If anything, my father’s favorite telephone brand, Nokia, taught me one thing for sure, no matter how established you are, changing with time is more than necessary. Thus, I won’t lie by saying I played peekaboo with AI SEO tools.
Besides, I am that lazy fox who is looking for easier ways to ace the SEO maze. In this quest, when SEO automation tools were taking their baby steps, and I was manoeuvring through Hadoop, Apache, MongoDM and Tableau, I knew I had to grab it.
Albeit my own scrutiny at the beginning, the revolution that AI have brought in SEO, I have become an avid believer of SEO automation tools. Today’s AI market’s worth stands approximately at $391bn, and is expected to reach up to $1.8 trillion by the last quarter of 2030 (Grandviewresearch.com, 2025).

But, I am not here to talk about random tools that look appealing and then when you install them, you find out you can not move an inch without swiping your credit card. I am talking about tools (both paid and free) that have helped and often saved my SEO responsibilities. These AI SEO tools have saved me hours of production time. SEO tasks like pinpointing good keywords, creating blog outline for new writers, or the humongous task of formatting it for my CMS and publishing it, ate away from the majority of my daily bandwidth, holding me back both professionally and personally.
But since I have started exploring and using SEO automation tools, now to finish the same workflow it takes me max 2-3 hours.
Alright, let’s roll up my literary finesse and storytelling to unravel the 8 best AI-powered SEO automation tools and which areas of your SEO workflow you can automate.
What Exactly is an SEO Automation Tool?
In layman’s terms, SEO (Search Engine Optimization) automation tools are digital platforms and software that leverages AI and LLMs (Large Language Models) to assist SEO experts in performing various SEO related tasks. These tasks could encompass anything from large SEO audits to simple A/B testings. These AI SEO tools automate such SEO workflow, which is otherwise outsourced to junior SEO specialists or virtual assistants. Thus, it simplifies and automates repetitive tasks in your SEO workflow.
Can Tools Really Automate SEO Workflow?
From an SEO specialist to another, I will never advocate that you use only AI for all of your SEO workflow and efforts, but I do believe that leveraging automation can speed up your overall SEO workflow. Some ways that I personally use SEO automation tools to better SEO workflow include:
- SERP Scraping
I have created an AI-agent that helps me scrape search results for any keyword and put it on Semrush to collect whatever SEO data I want from those links (fret not, further in this blog, I will get deeper into creating AI agents).
- Keywords for Content Ranking
This is where I use tools like ChatGPT to identify different keyword pillars or categories helping me build topical authority, improve site architecture and better user experience.
- Clustering of Topics
This is helpful especially when I have a bunch of keywords that I need to group together. For instance, when I have some keywords for a certain topic which I want to expand by identifying more potential keywords, for enhancing targeting opportunities.
- Content Structuring
Well what is any content without a proper structure? Be it the traditional, intro-description-conclusion or non-linear or the sequential structure, there is one point we can all agree upon is the need for a proper structure. I will show you tools that I generally use for speeding up the process of content structuring. But, yes I do add my own human insights still, yet it enhances almost 45% of the content structuring and brief writing.
- Interlinking
Some of the tools that I will discuss below have helped me a lot in identifying interlinking opportunities, especially when I am adding content into my CMS.
- Analysis of Keywords
Don’t mistake this for “keyword research”, I believe it is still very human, still very manual. What I have meant here is the automatic pulling of search volume, CPC, and other relevant keywords related data by AI agents and then exporting it into a Google Sheet automatically.
- Fortify Client-Admin Works
Platforms like ChatGPT or Claude have helped me a ton in building client pitches, these platforms have helped me in organizing my thoughts and documenting them into scripts enhancing my overall client reporting such as in emails.
8 Best AI Tools for SEO Workflow that I am Using (Free & Paid both)
1. ChatGPT

Pricing: $20 per month (for individual use)
Best for: Conducting in-depth research and heading ideas
ChatGPT has become so common that it can get overlooked easily. But, have you ever really used ChatGPT for SEO automation?
One of the ways I use ChatGPT to automate SEO workflow is that I use its speech to text to talk out my blog post, which then I post on ChatGPT, for it to clean the blog post of grammatical, clarity and readability issues.
Another way I leverage ChatGPT for SEO automation includes figuring out the topics that I can talk about in a blog post. However, I don’t necessarily use it for locating main target keywords to target. What I generally do is that, once I am sure of the keyword I want to rank for, and I am ready to create an outline, I question ChatGPT like
“What about this topic will interest people? Or What can people ask based on this topic?” (The topic I use is either the keyword or blog post title)
To sum up, you can use ChatGPT for various things, but personally I think this tool is the best for deep researching and finding the above discussed type of questions. You can also give ChatGPT a subreddit related to your niche, topic or industry that you are sorting after and then use it to find the common questions that people have in that subreddit. Once you finalize on the questions, you can easily use them as H2 ideas
2.Gumloop

Best for: Automating SEO workflows
Pricing: Offers a free plan, and then starts at $37/month
To fully understand the benefits that Gumloop can offer to an SEO expert, one must know how important AI agents are in the marketing and SEO world today.
To put simply AI agents are software systems that utilizes AI to pursue goals and finish tasks on your behalf. They use reasoning, planning and memory in completing your tasks, besides they also maintain a level of autonomy for decision making, learning and adapting.
Once you understand what an AI agent is, you know how it can skyrocket your SEO tasks. This is why Gumloop is that tool, which you must use if you plan to use one after reading this article. Gumloop allows you to build AI agents in a no-code interface. If you have had to use Zapier or Make.com ever, you will find this AI SEO tool very similar. But, in many ways Gumloop is better as it adds an LLM layer to workflow automations. It claims that one can automate any workflow with AI, and it’s no gimmick. At least when it comes to marketing, sales or operational stuff in your business, Gumloop will let you create any sort of automated workflow, without any engineering team to build internal AI tools. So, even if you have no technical knowledge you can easily make AI agents based on nodes.
You can create AI agents for different SEO workflows. It uses tools like ChatGPT to enhance your AI assisted writings. For example the AI agent that I have made uses the drafts for blog posts I make and automatically proofreads it, while editing the piece for grammatical errors using ChatGPT, and I have to lay no finger, as it’s all automated.

The days of waiting for your developer to build website pages is now gone, this SEO automation tool leverages AI to help you create websites and landing pages.
In the beginning, this tool might not look like a SEO tool, but I have been using this tool a lot since sometime, especially in the case of client websites, where they need me to create new landing pages. This tool helps me create and design pages much faster.
When you work with SEO you realise that, at its core SEO is a lot about creating pages to include in your website that targets specific keywords. This is why Relume is one of the best automation tools. With this AI SEO tool you can literally design entire websites, wireframe sitemaps and even export them to Webflow, Figma or custom React code.
If you are using Webflow for building websites and CMS of choice for SEO like me, then you most definitely should consider this tool.
5.Looker Studio

Best for: Automating client reporting
Pricing: Free of charge
Previously known as Data Studio. Looker Studio is a platform made by Google, allowing users to integrate different data sources for creating dashboards for self or for clients.
I generally use this SEO automation tool for creating dashboards. It is a great platform if you are looking to extract your Google Search Console data and tinker with the metrics and KPIs that your clients care about.
Besides, with this AI SEO tool, you can maneuver dashboards for including your client’s logo and even brand colors. It is a great tool that lets you automate a great portion of your reporting while offering clients their own dedicated dashboard that can be checked anytime. This way, your clients won’t constantly hit you up to see the progress of their SEO metrics.
6.AirOps

Best for: Automating the content creation process
Pricing: Free for 100 tasks per month for a single user
Next in the list is AirOps, currently one of the best tools for AI-assisted writing. It efficiently allows you to automate content operation parts in your SEO workflows. This SEO automation tool claims that it lets its users leverage LLMs, brand knowledge along with live data for generating topics and building content around them. And although I don’t advocate using AI blindly to write content, you can still use AI to enhance the process of content creation.
AirOps is great at helping SEO managers build workflows. With this SEO automation tool you can easily create automations that mirror Gumloop, which can be used for searching content to write, writing the content from scratch, automating it and lending you a hand in optimization as well.
The AI tool of this platform also allows its users to pivot ideas into AI workflows without the need for any code. It is pretty much like Gumloop fabricated into the AirOps platform.
With this SEO automation tool you can also create certain workflows or “AI agents” that can modify repeatable actions into reusable workflows.
I believe this platform is one of the best in the present time for AI-assisted writing that can augment the work of your content marketing team and SEO team, that are focused on building editorial content or create editorial landing pages at scale programmatically.
Some well-known brands like Contra, Wine.com, and Ramp use this tool, and its record of shipping new features makes it a must-have small content teams, who are needed to produce SEO content at scale. Their free plan is pretty generous.
7.Alli AI

Best for: Building CMS automations
Pricing: Starts from $169 per month
If there is any tool that I am rooting for to grow and am excited to see what revolution it brings in the SEO arena, then it has to be this AI SEO automation tool. It is such an AI SEO agent that can pair with any CMS, while allowing you to optimize your website or your client’s sites. This makes Alli AI a great choice for SEO agencies.

This AI agent for SEO tasks basically metamorphoses your CMS into an effective AI recommendation tool. In essence, you can consider Alli AI as an on-page optimization tool that leverages AI automation for optimizations on your behalf.
8.n8n

Best for: On-premises AI agents
Pricing: Starts from $24 monthly
Imagine Gumloop but with self-hosting capacities, that’s n8n for you. This AI agent for SEO tasks is much like other no-code workflow builders such as Zapier or Make.com, but with a built-in LLM layer. The great thing about this platform is that it offers a lot of community-made templates, meaning that there are chances of finding a template for the workflow you are trying to build.
These templates are much like website templates, which can be both paid or free, that have been created by others in the community. This SEO automation tool leans more towards the low-code side instead of being pure no-code like the other tools mentioned priorly, making it better suited for users who are more technical. So, if you are someone who skips coding like a vampire skips garlic, then you might like some other tool like Gumloop.
But if you take interest in technicality and are looking for flexibility, such as mixing in JavaScript and executing code within your AI agent workflows, then n8n is a platform that you must check out.
How to Choose the Right SEO Automation Tool for Your Business?
With the evolution of tools, building software is becoming more achievable. But this evolution on the other hand has led to the rising of a bunch of new AI tools. Some of which are great, but to be brutally honest, most of them suck. But again this is why I have decided to write blogs from my own experiences to help you filter out the noise and find the real gold (that have actually been tested).
Although my aim is always to fish, rather than fish for others. So, I will always suggest that you evaluate the tools I suggest, to ensure they work the best for you.
Some of the point that I think you should pay heed to find the best SEO automation tool:
- The capacity to integrate with your existing tools
- LLM integration
- Accuracy of data
- Team features
- Security and reliability
- Pricing
- Customer support services
Should You Really Invest in SEO Automation Tools, or Do You Still Have Time?
If you compare the cost it takes for a human to complete SEO tasks on an hourly rate with that of an SEO automation tool, then absolutely, you must invest in it. Also, not to overlook the scale of work that can be completed in the same timeframe.
But the most important thing I think is to identify if an SEO task is something that you can easily learn and teach anyone; if yes, then it can be automated. But for some tasks of the SEO process, such as for me, keyword research, ideation, and the gist of webpage content, are very human, and something I don’t prefer outsourcing to AI. I also don’t think automating these humane tasks is a good idea either. In these cases, I think SEO automation tools are not really worth the cost. And note, by cost I don’t only mean the financial perspective, I also mean the cost of time.
Throughout this article, you can see I have spoken of various tools that can automate the repetitive tasks in your SEO workflow. So, I leave it to you to figure out from which parts of your SEO workflow you can slowly replace yourself with AI tools, so that you can laser point your focus more on the human side.
I hope that if you haven’t yet figured out the way to automate your SEO workflow’s automation side, you do it soon, as personally it saves me a ton of time. SEO automation tools have significantly dropped my production time; I believe it will do so for you, too.
